After reading some of the reviews I thought I had made a HUGE mistake. Not so. The resort was absolutely lovely & the staff was so friendly. We stayed in one of the kitchenettes & the only bug problem was when I left some fudge on the counter over night. The ants came marching 200 x 200, but that was ok, I think they needed it more than I did. As for the person who commented on the musty smell , they need to give the place a break. After all, you are right on the ocean in muggy Florida, & I do mean right on the ocean. The smell really isn't that bad. There is a little pizza/bar/diner accross the street that serves a great breakfast. There is also a small grocery store, a gift shop & a liquor store in the same strip mall. We enjoyed our stay tremendously & would recommend to anyone . T Carolyn M Chicago, IL

We were a little nervous about not knowing much about this hotel before we went on vacation, but it exceeded our expectations. We upgraded to an ocean front room and that was well worth the extra cost. The rooms were nice and had a little kitchenette, it was nice to have a refridgerator. The best part of the room was the balcony it was nice size and had comfortable lounge chairs. The hotel is on the beach and just feet away from the ocean. There is also a nice pool and bar outside too. Staff was nice and helpful. It was an over all great experience!!

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at the Beachcomber and were very pleased. I agree with some of the other reviews about the musty smell. We upgraded our room and got a beautiful pool and beach view room with a king sized bed. Definitely worth the upgrade. The hotel was very clean and updated, and the hotel staff was superb. I loved the fact that it was on the beach, and we were able to sit in lounge chairs one step off of the beach. We enjoyed the beach setting without all of the sand! We will definitely stay there again.

In the end, the hotel owner came through, but the rest of the front desk staff needs to return to the training class. My traveling companion and I were awakened nights one and two by the beeping of the safe in our room which, by the way, we weren't even using. The beep began around 11PM and would go off sporadically for an hour or two. The first night, we were able to stop it and return to sleep, but the second night required the assistance of the night crew who were unable to stop the noise and insisted we move to another room to get some sleep. Not a bad idea, if they took the time to check out that we were mother and son and aren't interested in sleeping together! After bringing this to their attention and moving to yet another room, what do you know, strike two, this room was a definite downgrade from our original room and I truthfully wasn't sure if they sent us to a smokey lounge by mistake. Realizing it was now past midnight and we would likely pass out from exhaustion anyway, we returned to our original room beeping noise and all. The clueless security guard had only one concern which was; "we needed to make up our minds which room we wanted and give him all the other room keys." This all would have been fine if the nightcrew bothered to inform the owner in the morning, but guess again.............they never typed up a report and yours truly had to plead my case the next day. The owner said we had made our plans through Travel online and would need to speak with them, but gave us breakfast on the house for our troubles.

This was my boyfriend now fiance's and my first trip just the 2 of us! the hotel was great, the view was amazing, the service was very good, the room had a few extras that were great like a microwave, minifridge, and others. It was a nicer room than what I expected by far! We ate there once and it was good. The beach could had stand to be cleaned a bit more often as some feel the sand is an ashtray. Wish we would have known that if you scuba or snorkel you could do it 30 feet off the beach as there was a reef. I did not get to see it but saw a lot of people swim out to explore. There was a ton of fishing at the 2 piers if you are into that and some great restaurants. We went to the everglades, snorkeled and kayaked in the brackens! I would recomend this place. Also we went end of Sept and if you can do it it is a great time to go. There are few vacationers at this time!
