OUR STAY AT THE EXCELSIOR HOTEL

A WONDERFUL LOCATION. ELEGANT LOBBY AND THE ROOMS WERE CLEAN AND WELL APPOINTED. CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT WE WERE STAYING FOR 2 WEEKS, I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THEY WOULD GIVE US THE NICEST ROOM AVAILABLE. WE HAD A GORGEOUS VIEW BUT WERE ON A FLOOR THAT WAS BEING REMODELED. WE WERE ALL SETTLED IN BEFORE WE REALIZED THAT AND DIDN'T WANT TO TAKE THE TIME TO MOVE. OUR FRIENDS WHO STAYED FOR ONLY 4 NIGHTS DURING OUR TIME GOT A LARGER ROOM! THE LIGHTING IN OUR ROOM FOR READING WAS AWFUL AND WHEN I ASKED FOR ANOTHER LAMP FOR MY SIDE OF THE BED OR A LARGER WATTAGE LIGHT BULB THERE WAS NO ACCOMMODATING THOSE NEEDS. BUT WE WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN BASED ON WHAT I KNOW TO ASK FOR.

The room was very nice and the beds were quite comfortable. Ths staff was not overly friendly but the concierce was helpful. The location was the best part as it was near central park and the american museum of natural history. There were a lot of restaraunts near by. Overall, the experience was positive and we would stay there again

Our stay was everything we hoped for. An excellent deal. The rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. Located directly across from the incredible Natural Museum of History and Central Park (not far from Strawberry Field), with easy access to the subway. We enjoyed the continental breakfast on site, fair priced and convenient. For those who drive, extended-stay parking is available at the museum acorss the street at a discounted rate. If you want to walk out of your hotel room into NYC action and bright lights then stay at Times Square. If you get tired of walking around all day, enjoying the amazing sites in NYC, and want some peace and quiet for some good rest at an affordable rate in a clean environment then stay at Excelsior.

Had a really nice stay. GREAT location. Near lots of restaurants and activity. Hotel room was a little funky, but clean, large, and quiet -- just right for our needs. Nice fitness room a plus for us. Even parked on the street in a nearby neighborhood so no garage fees &(but be careful of double parkers). All in all, v. good.
