Service was efficient and friendly. Initially we were assigned an oceanfront room which looked right at the airport across the bay, but the hotel staff reassigned us to a room with a better view. Food was very good, and the all-inclusive plan was excellent includes 3 meals per day, all drinks except very high end alcoholic libations, all non-motorized water activities rafts, snorkel equipment, sea kayaks, and sunfish, tennis, and a pass covering all bus and ferry rides. The concierge service was exceptional, including directions to a couple of fun walking tours from the property. Had to settle for two double beds king beds are a bit scarce, but had a great time.

We stayed three nights over spring break and loved it. They staff is courteous, the room was clean, and the grotto right on the grounds is exceptional. We rented a scooter right next door and toured the island. The main lounge is all-wood with that faint attic-smell of old wood. The dining was OK... meals weren;t always hot but they were fancy (we prefer hot and sinple). We will return--we decided it had all the advantages of Hawaii without the long flight. There WERE lots of hills and steps for anyone who is very old or in wheel chair..but we liked the winding paths and stairs... this is really not a hotel but a whole hillside of little hotels with 25 rooms each, virtually all of them with a porch facing the water.. --

GROTTO BAY is an excellent hotel. The view from the rooms was great. Although it was cool around 60 in the daytime and 50s at night, there was a lot to do to keep busy. The food was good and resonably priced compared to other Bermuda resturants. X at the front desk was great. She took care of any questions that my wife and I had. X as the matre D was funny and helpful at the same time. Overall it was a good trip at a good price.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We had a great beach front room, with a lovely view of the harbour, The front desk was courteous and helpful, and we had no problems at all with them. What did surprise us at the beginning was that they wanted us to show a credit card, so that they could bill hotel expenses, like meals, telephone calls, etc. to the card. I am accustomed to paying the complete bill at the end of my stay, without having to give the hotel a credit card number up front. The grounds were well kept, and it was a pleasure walking around them. The hotel had it's own private beach, not very big, but big enough for the few hotel guests at this time of the year. The food at the hotel was very good, and we ended up eating more than we usually do. They had a good lunch buffet, with a meat dish, a fish dish, salads, and side dishes, and a great dessert buffet, with varying items from cakes to choclate mousse, etc. at a reasonable price. Dinner was a la carte, but just as good, and the bar had some good drinks and cocktails. at surprisingly reasonable prices. The private caves at the hotel, were worth a visit, with their array of stalagmites, and stalactites. Last but not least was the little souvenir shop at the hotel, where we got cold drinks, custard cremes for the resident birds and chickens, souvenirs, and valuable hints about where to go sightseeing, have a good dinner, etc. from the friendly lady who ran the shop. All in all we had a good time at the hotel, and we would like to reccomend it to our fellow travelers.
