I am living in orlando florida. One of the most vacationed spots in the world. I have seen and worked in customer service every day for the last 7 years. I have never seen such a horrible display of customer service in my life. After a long days of dealing with my brothers wedding obligations a little rest was needed in between wedding events. The Westin brought no relaxation to the trip. Service was incredibly slow, which I can understand if your busy which they may have been, but the service did not come with a smile. No reassuring words, no smile, no please, thank you, yes sir, no sir, just amazingly rude. I am not a rich guy that takes these kind of vacations every year, I am a hard working guy that made it out of the continental United States for the first time and will never go back because of the Westin. When management was notified the apologies were not sincere. They appeared as if they could care less as if we were putting them out to talk to us. I have stayed in a few Westins and have been treated like a king which is why I chose to spend $250 a night for one week to stay there. I will never stay in a Westin again. I understand this is a very large and well respected hotel chain and this will probably fall on deaf ears but I had to write this to get these things off of my chest. I never write reviews and I am not a complainer. If there is a hair in my food I dont say a word, but I have never been treated like this and I am still shocked. The Westin ruined my vacation.

Excellent hotel. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Many reviews state the food is expensive---it seemed to be reasonably priced for a resort area (breakfast being the most expensive at times--$30-50----but lunch $30-50 and dinners $40-$80). However, all food was excellent and huge portions. Would return again!

I absolutely loved this vacation, and have had a few. Overall it was the best resort experience I have had so far. The staff were absolutely terrific and just wonderful. in every way. Everyone was cheerful, helpful, fun and made each day a great one. Hard not to be in a good mood in paradise, from the greating at the dock with the rum punch, to the outstanding room upgrades they really went way above and beyond to offer hospitality the likes of which I have never seen before. The colors of the water in the bay, great water sports, the perfect weather, the lovely food, the fact that I didn't even gain a pound. There was feather bed on the king matress, crisp white sheets and down comforter with very good quality down pillows waiting in our two bath two floor suite - it was like home. Few places have been as comfortable as my own bed, and this certainly was. Honestly this was a superior base camp for springing into the ideal island vacation. Yep the best vacation ever! We can't wait to go back, it's all I can do to keep my husband from selling our house and moving the family to St. John. Ofcourse no where would be as nice as the Westin!

If you are expecting an Island party this is not for you! We went for a wedding at the Westin and our group of 30 somethings could not have had a more relaxing enjoyable time. Rent a boat, snorkel, ride over to Yost Van Dyke, rent a jeep and drive around the island and see the beauty. Incredible stay! Nice resort with a perfect location on the island. Staff was not great as a whole but there were a couple of people staff members that went above and beyond.

Despite reading horrible reviews, we decided that the Westin couldn't be that bad. I was wrong! Our first room had a nice pool view but the jumbo screen was located outside our room for movie night. They were to do this twice during our stay and it was very loud. We could hear our neighbors conversations as if the door was open and they had a bunch of kids screaming. We complained and had our room moved. Our next room was in the "pool view" catagory still but had NO view with tall bushes in front of our window. We had these small ants around our sink, by the safe on the carpet, night stand, basically everywhere. The tile in the bathroom had no grout, I had an earring fall off the sink and fell in between the cracks of the tile! The hotel is very spread out. They have golf carts coming around to see if you need a ride but then feel pressured to tip everytime. The food is super expensive and not really great. We were there to get married in St. John on Hawksnest beach. All our other family stayed on St. Thomas at the Wyndham Sugar Bay resort. When I went to visit my parents I starting crying. They had a 5th floor full ocean view. The most beautiful view ever! Thats what we came to the Virgin Islands to see. Long story short.. we only stayed at the Westin 2 nights. I checked out at 9am, had our wedding at 945am, and took the ferry to St. Thomas to check into the Wyndham. We had an AWESOME stay over there and highly recommend it. Cheap beach cafe that was good, great water sports, VERY friendly staff.
