The hotel lobby is nice and the room was what I expected considering it is an older property. The location and the gym was good. The bad side is that they do not honor the requests you make online such as room type and non-smoking. It took negotiating to get moved to a non smoking room as they blamed the Internet and said that was my fault for booking online. There were also several questionable events going on including parties on the weekend as the hotel is in the entertainment district. It did not seem like a classy place. If I visit again, I would choose another hotel and would recommend staying in a different neighborhood. Also nothing is complementary and some staff were very rude.

The King Edward is a classic gran dame hotel. They have recently added newer elevators which are much faster. The lobby and bar are classic. The rooms are roomy, the major problem is the comfort of the beds... the mattress is lumpy and too soft and gave me a back ache which i still have for over a week... a shame, because i do like the overall fell of the hotel and the location

Le Meridien King Edward had some of the nicest staff members I have ever met while vacationing HOWEVEVR, the hotel was a Starwood disappointment. The carpet in the hallways was coming up, the rooms were not at all what they looked like in the pictures on-line, the ceiling tiles in the bathrooms were brown with mold or some other substance, the phone would not dial the front desk or room service, the bell hop got lost going from the curb to check in. My what a joke!

Staying at the King Edward for 8 nights was a treat. The staff is friendly, yet professional; the rooms are good; it has a very good fitness center; and, the location is great. We loved the whole experience.

Don't ever agree to stay in a smoking room. The smell of cheap cigarettes is way worse than you think. They told us I reserved a smoking room, but I don't even think that's possible online. The room was a little dark and not that clean. It did have a nice TV and the staff was very helpful. But overall, it didn't seem worth the price.
