Although we could see the Red Lion from the freeway, it took us three times to finally get off at the right exit. For some reason, our GSP couldn't give us accurate directions. The parking lot near the hotel isn't large enough, and the lot for additional parking is a little distance away from the entrance. Moreover, there is no elevator, which caused a bit of a problem for one of our group. The person at check-in was polite enough but certainly not welcoming, friendly, or particularly helpful. When we went into the gift shop the next morning, the salesperson was eating her breakfast, talking on the phone (social conversation, not business), and did not even acknowledge that we had entered. No greeting, no offer to help. The bathtub had non-skid tape attached to the bottom, which is fine, but the ends were coming off and curling up, a perfect harbor for bacteria. This was the third hotel of our trip and the only one where we didn't feel comfortable taking a bath. All in all, we didn't feel appreciated or particularly comfortable.

The service at Red Lion's lounge was excellent, and the food was quite tasty. I had a cheeseburger, the house salad, and their seafood fettucini. The fettucini was so-so. The common areas were furnished very attractively. The lounge has a lot of cushy chairs that are nice if you are alone and want to read while you eat. The actual room was not what I would expect for $165 (their listed regular price). It wasn't any better than any other $65 hotel room I've stayed in. I stayed in room 604. It was very clean, at least. The walls were paper thin. Each morning I awoke an hour earlier than planned because of my neighbor's clock radio. The toilet flushed very slowly and unconvincingly. I had to hold the handle down for about 20 seconds a pop (not a typo : ) ). I called someone up to look at it within minutes of checking in, because I had read about this problem in other reviews. He was unable to do anything about it and told me that the hotel is in the process of replacing those toilets. Also, the room has no refrigerator, so don't get too excited about the grocery store that is within walking distance. This hotel is about a 7 - 10 minute walk from the Nine Mile light rail station, so it is easy to get downtown from there. You can buy light rail passes right at the airport. The light rail is clean and efficient. If you don't want to take the hotel shuttle (I don't know why you wouldn't, it's free), you can take a bus to Nine Mile for $8.

This hotel states that they are a business center, however the server was down a few of the days that I was there. This made it difficult to send information over the internet when I needed to. Also I was told when I reserved the room that a shuttle would take me to where I needed to go. This did not happen so I ended up having to take public transportation everyday an hour each way! I am not against light rail but the hotel started refusing to pick me up after the 2nd day so I had to then get a cab everyday from hotel to light rail and back. It ended up costing me $37/day, not including tip to cab. Finally asked for refund so I could go to another hotel and was told that was not possible since I prepaid. Half the time my room keycard did not work for my room or gym. Needless to say this was the worst 10 days of my life. Employees RUDE and not helpful. I will never stay here or another hotel affliated with them :(

Front desk personnel was very friendly, we loved our room, one bed for us one for our son.. Heat lamps in the bathroom were a big plus, big plasma tv, room service was great, clean and comfortable, loved the free wifi... Great views from our room and the hot tub was amazing. We will definitely be staying here next year.
