We didn't know what to expect but weren't expecting anything nearly as nice. It's a cool, hip hotel near the heart of Chicago. The staff was helpful, the down stairs restaurant had good food and the top floor bar was a great hang out with cool outdoor seating with plenty of heating and lots of windows. I would highly recommend this as a couples get away destination as it wasn't really geared to children.

Stayed in a king classic room on eleventh floor. It is the smallest king bed we've ever slept in. Better off getting the double queen room - which also comes with a tub (king rooms - no tub). However small, the bed is soooo comfy. Great night's sleep. The train is right across the street, but wasn't that loud. Great decor and location. It's not classy by any means, but alright for the money.

Stayed in this hotel for five nights. Was moved three times. The hotel is built next the L train and there is no sound proofing! The staff is very nice and accommodating, but what can they possibly do about the train? I was kept up late every night and awoken every morning. The rooms are the size of the king size bed and desk. For a modern hotel, they did not concieve it very well. There is nothing unique about staying here for the price they are charging. I did get a very good rate on travel website, but you know the old saying, you get what you pay for. The food at the upstairs bar and the room service is overpriced and not very good. Finally, be warned, though they use the name Doubletree, this is not an all suites hotel. The third room I was moved to was a suite (this was after I packed my bags to leave and they begged me to stay). The suite wasn't very useful and the bathroom was horrible- the shower sprayed everywhere. Avoid this hotel, folks.

The Wit had only been open less than a week and a half when I stayed for a business trip. I am sure the room had not been used by anyone as the twist ties were still on the iron and hair dryer. The hotel corridors had a nice bird chirping noise which was soothing, the room was obviously clean and modern geared for the business traveler. My room was on the 6th floor out of 26 floors the first 5 was for hotel ammenities so I was expecting a higher room with a little better view but I could still see the river a little bit and Marina City. They do have a roof top bar with limited food available. Half was outside and the other half surrounded by floor to ceiling glass, also very modern and nice views as well. All of the staff was very friendly and outgoing, they are still trying to put on some of the finishing touches as expected. The rate I got was very good for Chicago when you consider I was not charged for valet parking in CHICAGO! I was able to walk to my meeting at the Hyatt Regency (and save a significant amount of money) and close to other points of interest as well. My overall experience was very good and would consider the Wit as a place to stay again, the free parking was a huge plus.
